Breakfasts at Charcott are by now internationally famous with many guests both from at home and abroad returning again and again to sample the latest delights of Nick’s cooking skills!
Served communally in the dining room, it is a relaxed and informal affair with individual orders and timings agreed the night before and guests are free to linger over refills of coffee or tea as long as they wish.
Eggs are fresh from our own flock of free range chickens and menus vary according to taste. Cereals, fresh fruit and juice are available on a help yourself basis and Nick’s caramelised pears with home made yoghurt is proving a very popular starter. These may be followed by a traditional farmhouse fry-up, poached eggs, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, kippers or even kedgeree.
English cheeses and continental breakfasts are of course available for guests with smaller appetites and all our bread, wholemeal, granary and white is homemade in the aga along with a range of marmalade and jams. As far as possible all ingredients are organic and locally sourced.
Vegetarian and special diets can generally be catered for provided enough notice is given.
