Welcome to Charcott Farmhouse B&B
Charcott Farmhouse is a pretty sixteenth century tile-hung farmhouse typical of the Weald of Kent. Tucked away behind the tiny hamlet of Charcott and no longer a working farm, it now forms part of an attractive and peaceful homestead surrounded by open fields and woodland.
We are within minutes of many of¬†Kent‚Äôs most famous attractions such as¬†Penshurst¬†Place, the National Trust¬†village¬†of¬†Chiddingstone,¬†Hever¬†Castle, Chartwell,¬†Knole¬†Park, and¬†Ightham¬†Mote.¬†Penshurst¬†Station is a 15 minute walk across the old¬† aerodrome with trains hourly to¬†London¬†Bridge.¬† The Greyhound pub, recently awarded CAMRA’s Autumn Award for the Most Higly Commended Pub, and now serving locally brewed Larkins ale, is a 5 minute amble down the drive for excellent and reasonably priced evening meals.
Hosts Nicholas and Ginny are both highly knowledgeable about the local region, are always available to answer questions and will do their best to ensure guests have a memorable and relaxing stay.
Guests are generally welcomed on arrival with a cup of tea and have the use of a small beamed sitting room with colour TV.  There is a large and rather untidy garden and in summer, whenever possible, tea is served outside on the brick terrace overlooking the lawn and roses.  Ginny and Nicholas run the bed and breakfast alongside family life and are happy for guests to come and go as they wish throughout the day.
Penshurst Place with its beautiful gardens, Chiddingstone Castle, Hever Castle and Chartwell, home of Sir Winston Churchill are all no more than 10-15 minutes drive away.  Slightly further afield are Knole Park in Sevenoaks, Emmets Garden, Leeds Castle and Sissinghurst.  And of course the cobbled streets of Rye, the spa town of Tunbridge Wells and the little known tiny church at Tudeley with its glorious windows by Marc Chagall are all easily reached.
In addition to the Greyhound there are numerous other local hostelries with The Rock at Chiddingstone Hoath, The Castle Inn at Chiddingstone, the Wheatsheaf at Bough Beech and The Leicester Arms at Penshurst all within a few miles.
For walkers there are numerous footpaths to follow and it has not been unknown for guests to walk to both Chiddingstone and Penshurst and back in a single day.
